Grace Village today was amazing! What a beautiful home for the orphan children…….filled with love and hope for a bright future. Upon our arrival, the children and staff greeted us with smiles and open arms. We were given a tour of the facility which included the new outdoor pizza oven; the children’s dormitory (which included all of the neatly made bunkbeds…...yes….they are given daily chores. We saw the beautiful Grace Village chapel which is used for many purposes in addition to worshiping…….they eat meals in the chapel and have social activities as well. We then toured the classrooms where children from pre-school through 10th grade are educated. We had the amazing experience of touring the hydroponics facility and their beautiful garden. The children have a beautiful playground and basketball/multi functional athletic court as well.
The
children were absolutely darling and precious! They loved being
held…..especially the little one who climbed into my arms and quickly
snuggled and fell asleep! She had the most beautiful little cherub
face. What a blessing for me to be able to snuggle her and know that
she was at such peace. The little boys loved playing with the
guitar…..strumming away.
Grace
Village has future expansion plans including a chicken coup and soccer
field. It was such a joy to see that these children are not only
thriving in this orphanage, but have the opportunity to receive an
education and life skills to afford them the opportunity to leave Grace
Village when they reach adulthood and go on to college and career
opportunities that will enable them to support themselves.
